“Radio4 verdwijnt mogelijk uit de ether“
There are moves afoot to take away the FM frequencies allocated to Radio 4, the only classical music station in the Netherlands that can still be received without cable. This would be a serious blow to classical music listeners — Radio 4 may not be at the same level of excellence as BBC Radio 3, and is sadly infested with advertising, traffic news, and world music (all no doubt good things in their place, but not what you want to hear when you tune to a classical station), but it’s all that we’ve got, and we can be pretty sure that it will have even less money to spend on sponsoring and recording live performances if it is banished to cable-land.
